Is the IFH right for me?

The IFH is like a big family. We have 10 rooms and house 22 residents. Each resident will have a roommate. We each take turns doing different house chores (like taking out the trash). We also have two mandatory cleaning days a year in which all the residents help out with various cleaning tasks that need to be done around the house (these days take place approximately one time each semester). We have breakfast (7:00-8:00 a.m.) and dinner (6:00 p.m.) Monday through Friday. We do a variety of social activities and weekend trips. We want people in the house who desire to participate in activities and in house life. These things are important and fun to be part of and help bring us together in some really great ways. If this type of community is what you are looking for then you are welcome to apply.  If you are not interested in living in community and participating in the house events and life, it probably is better that you do not apply.

The IFH welcomes both short and long-term residents. All residents are expected to abide by the general IFH guidelines. Please click here to determine what kind of residency is best for you.

Please carefully read through the IFH Handbook before applying to live at the IFH. We have found that these standards protect and strengthen the unique culture of the International Fellowship House.

The IFH was founded in 1966 by a group of individuals who wanted to provide a safe place for male international students to stay while they were studying in Boston. We are a community that values open discussion and thoughtful dialogue.
